On April 1, 1931 the great depression had hit Chattanooga and all of Tennessee hard. One family had very little money. Their dad dad had lost his job and went on a train to look for a job. After their dad left town, Jackie Mitchell the daughter wanted to play on a baseball team and the lookouts hired a 17 year old girl pitcher, she played with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig and more. Her first game came and a terrible April Fools joke on Chattanooga , as torrents rain flooded the town and they had to canceled the big baseball game. The lookouts were suppose to play against the New York Yankees. The Lookouts hired  Jackie Mitchell. On their second game, Jackie played as the pitcher ,and because of that the Lookouts won the game.

Yesterday, our teacher Mrs. Mcfall created a game. That game was about taxes. Each of our classmates had a cup half full of mints. Our teacher pulled up a card that has a sentence written on it.  If you have shoes that have laces, bring two mints to the front of the classroom. If you didn’t have what was on the front of the card, you got to keep your mints. At the end of the game some of my classmates had not one mint , but the rest of our class had under five mints. The people that had no mints they said ,” no fair,  that is not right!”

We went on and on until the teacher ran out of questions. What I learned was that people back then had to pay for what they wore and had to pay their bosses .

Past

One thing I did last year that I will remember is that is that I went on vacation with Wyatt and his parents. We went on vacation for one week to several states. The first place we went to is Red River in New Mexico. In New Mexico we rented a room and was very nice but small. Then we went to rent a jeep that can go up mountains and rocks. Next we went to eat dinner with the Applegate’s friends. We ate then the friends left, after that we went to our cabin, then slept. We stayed there for three days. then it took us one entire day to get to Colorodo. We rented a hotel and in the next morning, wewent we went to more mountains. After that we went to eat then go to the hotel and slept. In the morning we ate breakfast. Then we went to Mesa Verda cave were Indians lived. After that we went to other places and went to the hotel and went to sleep. In the morning, we went to Kanzas and rented a hotel. next we went to a big buffet. Then we drove around the city and looked around and went to the hotel took a bath then went to sleep. In the next morning we packed up and went home. it took 13 to get home.

Future

At four in the after noon, me, mom, and my brother went to see the new The Night of The Museum. in the middle of the movie Mimi came and watched the movie with us. then at the end me and my brother went to stayed the night with my Mimi. Continue reading
